A Recruiter's Guide to Connecting with
Students with Accoladi

Connecting with talented students on Accoladi is straightforward. Here's your step-by-step guide to finding and engaging with potential candidates.

Step 1: Find Your Ideal Candidates

Begin on the Student Search page. Use the filters to narrow down candidates by instrument, voice part, honors, desired degree, graduation year, or location. You can also search directly by name. Click Search to see all matching students.

Step 2: Follow a Student to Start a Conversation

From the results list, click "View Profile" to review a student's details. When you're ready to connect, click the Follow button.

This is the key step! Following a student automatically adds them to your "My Recruitments" list and instantly creates a private chat in your "My Chats" section.

The student's card will display a "Following" badge. You can "Unfollow" at any time.

Step 3: Manage Your Roster in 'My Recruitments'

The My Recruitments page acts as your dashboard, showing all the students you are currently following. Each row lists the student, the date you connected, and available actions.

Click Create Chat beside the student in My Recruitments. This sends an email notification to the student and their parents so they know a conversation is waiting.

Step 4: Engage in the 'My Chats' Workspace

Navigate to the My Chats section to begin your conversation.

On the left, you'll see a list of all your active conversations, showing the student's name and the latest message.

Click a name to open that chat thread.

In the main panel, type your first message in the text box and send it.

The student and their parents will receive an email notification that you've reached out.

Step 5: Continue the Conversation

All your ongoing discussions are saved in My Chats. Simply return to this page anytime you need to continue a conversation.
